Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 5 to 16 May, the fifth edition of the international competition "Best Sniper Team" took place in Türkiye at the Commando Training Center located on a mountain near Isparta. Over forty teams from fifteen countries participated in the event.

Among the competitors was the team from the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan. Our snipers faced strong competition from representatives of Türkiye, Pakistan, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, and several other nations. Delegations from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, the United Kingdom, and Kuwait attended the event as observers.

Participants were divided into groups and competed in around fifteen highly challenging disciplines. These included shooting accuracy at steep angles, performing combat exercises while wearing gas masks, and firing at unclear targets from unstable firing positions.

The snipers demonstrated skills such as shooting through various types of cover, even from the side of a helicopter, as well as defending an “island” position and firing from a boat. Tasks also involved stealthy approaches to targets and “cold barrel” shots after a five-kilometer forced march carrying full gear, night shooting at unknown distances, and other demanding challenges.

Over the course of nearly ten intense days, the Uzbek team successfully endured the competition and rightfully took first place, earning gold medals. This marks the second consecutive year that our snipers have won the tournament: they previously finished second in 2022 and 2023, and then reaffirmed their status as the strongest in both 2024 and 2025.
