Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 January 2022, a meeting was held between the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sodik Safoev with the special representative of the Government of China for Eurasian Affairs Li Hui.

During the meeting, the state and prospects of Uzbek-Chinese relations were discussed, including on the further intensification of the inter-parliamentary dialogue.

Li Hui highly appreciated the reforms carried out under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoyev.

It was noted that bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and China is friendly, mutually beneficial. The development of interaction is facilitated by the coincidence or similarity of the positions of the parties on the main issues of the international agenda. A regular political dialogue at the highest level is maintained between the two countries.

At the meeting, an agreement was reached on strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as establishing close ties in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres and other areas of interest.

In turn, the parties stressed that this visit, organized within the framework of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and China, will give a powerful impetus to the further strengthening of friendly relations, as well as interaction between the legislative bodies of our countries.

During the meeting, other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
