Uzbekistan-Certified Specialists to Participate in Construction of Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant in Türkiye
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Türkiye plan to open centers for assessing professional qualifications according to Turkish standards, the Uzbekistan Migration Agency reported.
During a visit to Türkiye, the Director of the Migration Agency, Behzod Musaev, held talks with the leadership of the organization Arya. Following the meeting, an agreement was signed providing for the evaluation of professional competencies of Uzbek citizens intending to work in Türkiye.
Assessment centers will be established in Tashkent, Namangan, and Syrdarya regions. They will test specialists’ knowledge and practical skills across 25 professions according to Turkish standards, with certificates issued that are recognized in Türkiye.
It is reported that by the end of the current year, Uzbekistan plans to send about 1,500 certified specialists to participate in the construction of the first Turkish nuclear power plant, Akkuyu, located in Mersin Province.
Earlier, the Migration Agency also reported agreements reached with the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of Türkiye. In particular, the Turkish side agreed to legalize Uzbek citizens residing in the country without proper documentation without imposing deportation measures and to provide work permits to Uzbeks after three years of residence in Türkiye.
Additionally, during his visit, Behzod Musaev reached an agreement with the Turkish company KSK Temizlik to involve Uzbek labor migrants in the construction of large projects in Ankara. The company plans to employ up to 2,500 Uzbek citizens over the course of the year.
