Uzbekistan Calls for Restoring Trust and Dialogue at OSCE Meeting
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Speaking at the 32nd OSCE Ministerial Council in Vienna, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov reaffirmed the country’s commitment to constructive dialogue, regional cooperation, and strengthening the multilateral system.
He emphasized that restoring trust and overcoming the deep fragmentation characterizing international relations is an urgent priority.
Against the backdrop of rising geopolitical tensions, armed conflicts, cyber threats, and climate disasters, Minister Saidov stressed that international institutions, including the OSCE, must be strengthened to effectively fulfill their core functions.
Uzbekistan supports efforts to reform the Organization to enhance its effectiveness, maintain inclusivity, and strengthen its capacity to respond to contemporary challenges, he noted.
The minister also highlighted profound positive changes in Central Asia over the past eight years, transforming the region into one of trust, dialogue, and mutually beneficial cooperation. He recalled that joint regional efforts have resolved long-standing issues, accelerated economic integration, and reinforced transport connectivity.
