Uzbekistan Braces for Prolonged Rain and Unseasonably Cool Temperatures

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Residents across Uzbekistan are advised to prepare for a sustained period of wet and chilly weather throughout the current week. According to the national weather service, Uzhydromet, Tashkent and surrounding regions are expected to experience persistent precipitation with very few breaks in cloud cover.

The forecast indicates that rainfall will impact the majority of the country. In the northern regions, specifically on 3–4 March, the precipitation may transition into sleet or wet snow as a cold air mass moves through the area. Forecasters noted that the early arrival of stable spring warmth remains unlikely in the immediate future.

Nighttime temperatures are expected to fluctuate between –3°C and +2°C, while daytime highs will struggle to reach +7°C to +10°C. Meteorologists anticipate a further downward trend in temperatures as the week progresses.

Local authorities recommend that citizens account for these weather conditions when planning travel and exercise increased caution on the roads due to potentially hazardous driving conditions and reduced visibility.
