Uzbekistan blocks car smuggling channel from Kyrgyzstan

Law enforcement bodies arrested citizens of Ferghana and Samarkand, who smuggled 17 automobile of Chevrolet Lacetti model and one Chevrolet Nubira from Kyrgyzstan without undergoing customs procedures.

The paper reported that a citizen of Samarkand and four citizens of Ferghana smuggled cars into Uzbekistan from Kyrgyzstan and falcificated their documents. They sold cars to citizens of Uzbekistan.

Total volume of damage, caused to victims, made up US$170,400 and 147.5 million soums. The members of the criminal group were sentenced to jail terms and the judge obliged them to pay compensations for the victims. The cars were confiscated by the state.
