Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Law "On Advertising" was signed by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
According to the law, advertising is prohibited:
- advertise goods in printed publications (textbooks, school diaries, school notebooks and others) used in preschool education and upbringing, general secondary, secondary specialized and vocational education;
- indicate prices (tariffs) in foreign currency;
- advertise information products without specifying the age classification in cases provided for by the legislation on the protection of children from information harmful to their health;
- the use of forms, phrases and images that are contrary to national and family traditions, as well as generally accepted norms of morality and morality.
In accordance with the Law, in order to protect minors from abuse of their trust and lack of experience in advertising, it is prohibited:
the use of showing minors in dangerous situations, including situations that encourage them to commit actions that pose a threat to their life and (or) health, including causing harm to their health;
discrediting parents and educators, undermining the confidence in them among minors;
advertise goods prohibited for purchase or consumption by minors on TV channels, television and radio programs intended for minors.
In addition, advertisements for medicinal products are prohibited from involving famous persons, medical professionals or persons whose appearance imitates the appearance of doctors.
The total duration of advertising distributed on the air of TV channels, television, video, newsreel programs cannot exceed twenty percent of the broadcast time per hour, but not more than fifteen percent of the broadcast per day. This requirement does not apply to TV channels that specialize exclusively in advertising TV programs.
It is not allowed to interrupt by commercials and combine with commercials TV shows lasting less than ten minutes.
This Law shall enter into force three months after its official publication.
