Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with Chairwoman of the National Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova, who arrived in our country to participate in the autumn session of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, held in Samarkand.

During the meeting, it was noted that the high-level agreements reached during the visit of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Uzbekistan this year, in particular, the signing of the Declaration on deepening the strategic partnership and building up comprehensive cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan, brought cooperation between our countries to a new level.

During the dialogue, it was emphasized that the pace of cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries has accelerated in recent years. An exchange of views also took place on the more active use of existing opportunities, in particular, intensification in terms of lawmaking and strengthening cooperation between committees.

The meeting focused on issues of gender equality and family, establishing a practical dialogue between the regions of the two countries.

In addition, it was emphasized that within the framework of the official visit of the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva to the Republic of Azerbaijan on 29 June 2022, the first business forum of women entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan was held, during which a number of agreements were reached with the participation of women entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan , effectively working in the fields of industry, service, agriculture, handicrafts. At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to intensify cooperation between parliaments on the legal support of joint projects in trade, economic, transport, communication, cultural, humanitarian and other fields and to hold the next business forum of women entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan.
