Uzbekistan Attracts Turkish Investment in Agriculture

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, led by Shokhrukh Akramov, Head of Department, held a series of negotiations with executives of leading Turkish companies interested in investing in Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector during an official visit to the Republic of Türkiye.

In Ankara, the delegation met with the management of Farmer Ziraat, a company specializing in the production of agricultural machinery and equipment. The talks focused on the possibility of establishing production facilities in Uzbekistan.

Representatives of the ministry provided Turkish partners with detailed information on Uzbekistan’s favorable investment climate, existing tax and customs incentives, and state support mechanisms available to foreign investors.

In addition, the delegation met with Mukhteshem Torunin, Secretary General of the Turkish Seed Association (TURKTOB). Discussions centered on expanding cooperation in seed production, exchanging expertise, and introducing modern technologies into Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector.

At a meeting with Hakkı Ekinci Ergüneş, Chairman of the Turkish Association of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers (TARMAKBİR), the sides discussed attracting Turkish companies operating in agricultural machinery, smart agrotechnologies, and drones, as well as the establishment of joint production ventures in these areas.

As a result of the negotiations, concrete agreements were reached on the implementation of joint projects aimed at developing and modernizing Uzbekistan’s agriculture through the adoption of advanced Turkish technologies.
