Uzbekistan attends meeting of UN Convention on biologic diversity
The event was attended by about 500 representatives of over 140 countries and international organizations. Among them were heads of the ministers, departments and research centers, Jahon reported.
During the plenary session, the delegation of Uzbekistan presented a report on ecologic situation in the country, mainly focusing on ecologic catastrophe in Aral Sea. It was noted that Aral Sea problem become global problem and it is necessary attract both states of the region and international community led by UNDP and international financial structures to solve this issue.
The event provided good opportunity to attract attention of international community to ecologic challenges in Central Asia and familiarize them with adopted measures to preserve and improve environment in the country.
