Uzbekistan Approves New Cybersecurity Strategy
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has approved a new state strategy for cybersecurity development and improving the system for combating cybercrime.
The corresponding decree outlines the strategic priorities for 2026–2030.
As part of the strategy’s implementation, specialized cybersecurity units will be established from April 1, 2026, within the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Energy, and the Tax Committee.
In addition, government bodies and organizations will be able to allocate funds for cybersecurity measures both from the state budget and extra-budgetary funds.
To strengthen the resilience of national information systems and identify vulnerabilities, the government plans to organize competitions involving independent experts.
These contests will be held on a special electronic platform developed by the State Security Service.
The strategy aims to enhance the protection of critical infrastructure, improve the cybersecurity of public and commercial information systems, and establish modern mechanisms to counter cyber threats.
