Uzbekistan Approves List of Professions Eligible for Early Retirement

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a list of professions and positions whose representatives will be entitled to retire earlier than the standard retirement age.

Early retirement will be available for workers in the mining sector with at least 20 years of experience, employees of underground and open-pit mining operations with 25 years of service, and pilots and flight test personnel — men with at least 25 years of service and women with 20 years.

The right to early retirement also applies to artists of theaters, ballet, and circus — depending on their category, with 20–30 years of creative experience — as well as professional athletes with at least 20 years of experience.

Additionally, preferential retirement is granted to war veterans with disabilities and mothers raising children with disabilities from birth.

Depending on the profession, retirement may be granted regardless of age or 5–10 years earlier than the standard retirement age.

The document also provides that enterprises and organizations may propose new professions for inclusion in the list based on the specifics of working conditions and occupational hazard levels.
