Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On additional measures to regulate the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the Republic of Uzbekistan" was adopted.

In accordance with the document, the illegal import, sale, purchase, storage or use of unmanned aerial vehicles, components and spare parts (except for their transit, subject to mandatory declaration) is prohibited on the territory of the republic. The exception is the import, sale, purchase, storage or use of unmanned aerial vehicles, components and spare parts by:

Ministry of Tourism;

State Unitary Enterprise “Geo-Innovation Center of the Cadastre Agency under the State Tax Committee;

Directorate of the free tourist zone "Charvak";

National Commission of Uzbekistan for UNESCO.

The current legislation envisages criminal liability for:

- illegal import, sale, acquisition, storage or use of unmanned aerial vehicles, components and spare parts for them;

- violation of the procedure for storage, use or provision of unmanned aerial vehicles to other persons, as well as their misuse.

The resolution also established that:

ministries, departments and economic entities, on the basis of separate decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers, may be issued permits for the import, sale, purchase, storage or use of unmanned aerial vehicles, components and spare parts;

permits for temporary import, storage and use of unmanned aerial vehicles by foreign creative groups in order to prepare photo and video materials about the tourism potential of the republic are issued by the Civil Aviation Agency under the Ministry of Transport at the request of the Ministry of Tourism.

The document approves the Provisions:

on the procedure for the use and storage of unmanned aerial vehicles in civil and state aviation of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

on the procedure for issuing a permit for temporary import, storage and use of unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

on carrying out work on aerial photography on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan using an aircraft.
