Uzbekistan Appoints New Cultural Envoy to Türkiye
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Culture has established the position of permanent cultural envoy to represent the country in Türkiye. The honor has been bestowed upon Chokay Kochar, a 60-year-old member of the Uzbek diaspora known for his dedication to preserving national heritage.
The official appointment ceremony took place at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Türkiye, where Chokay Kochar received a symbolic letter of commission from Ilkhom Khaydarov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Türkiye.
Born in the Turkish city of Adana, Chokay Kochar is of Uzbek origin. He graduated from Selçuk and Gelişim universities and has long been active in the Society of Turkestanis. In recent years, he founded and now leads the Uzbekistan Cultural, Solidarity and Cooperation Society.
Under his leadership, numerous projects are being carried out in Türkiye to preserve Uzbek cultural values, pass traditions to younger generations, and foster greater cultural exchange between the two nations.
