Sergei Lebedev said that the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed the readiness of the country to assume the chairmanship in the CIS, RIA Novosti reported.
According to him, Uzbekistan is ready to take over the chairmanship after Turkmenistan in 2020 and hold meetings of the highest bodies of the CIS in the territory of Uzbekistan.
It should be mentioned that Russia chairs the CIS in 2017. Tajikistan will take over the chairmanship in the CIS in 2018 and Turkmenistan in 2019.
