Uzbekistan and ZTE Expand Cooperation in Digital Technologies
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with the leadership of Chinese telecommunications company ZTE during the World Mobile Congress.
The discussions included ZTE Vice President James Zhang and other executives responsible for the company’s international operations.
The parties explored long-term cooperation prospects, modernization of Uzbekistan’s telecommunications infrastructure, expansion of mobile networks, and the rollout of high-speed broadband across the country.
Special attention was given to the implementation of next-generation technologies, development of data centers, and creation of new digital services and solutions for the national economy.
ZTE representatives acknowledged Uzbekistan’s achievements in telecom reforms and expressed readiness to broaden technological cooperation. As a result of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to strengthen collaboration in infrastructure development, adoption of advanced technologies, and execution of innovative projects.
Minister Shermatov also visited the ZTE exhibition stand, which showcased next-generation telecom equipment, data center solutions, 6G, Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 8 technologies, as well as satellite communication systems. Company specialists explained the capabilities of these technologies and their significance for expanding high-speed connectivity in Uzbekistan.
