Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and the United States continue to strengthen cooperation in space technology and digital development.
Key areas of partnership include artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure development, and the implementation of joint investment projects.
Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, held a working meeting with John En, a senior business development specialist at the U.S. Export-Import Bank. The discussion focused on deepening bilateral engagement and identifying concrete avenues for further collaboration.
Special attention was given to Uzbekistan’s national space program, including the launch of the country’s first artificial satellite, development of Earth remote sensing systems, and creation of a modern, sustainable digital infrastructure.
The parties also discussed the application of U.S. products and services in joint projects and the need to integrate them with existing financing mechanisms.
Uzbekistan presented initiatives aimed at establishing the country as a regional IT hub, including the creation of specialized centers, expansion of digital service exports, and the development of favorable conditions for international tech companies.
Participants highlighted the high potential of Uzbekistan’s human capital, the dynamic growth of its IT sector, and systematic support for the startup ecosystem.
Following the dialogue, both sides confirmed their readiness to continue collaboration in space technology, artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructure, as well as the development and implementation of specific investment projects.
