Uzbekistan and UNICEF deepen cooperation on the protection of children's rights and interests
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 26 May, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbayeva, held a meeting with UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNICEF aimed at the comprehensive protection of children's rights, the development of social support systems, maternal and child healthcare, and the provision of accessible, inclusive, and high-quality education.
Special emphasis was placed on supporting children with disabilities, promoting inclusive initiatives, and enhancing the training and professional development of specialists working in these areas.
Both sides expressed mutual interest in intensifying joint efforts to organize international forums and events focused on safeguarding the rights and legitimate interests of children.
As a result of the talks, the parties agreed to further strengthen constructive and effective cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNICEF through the implementation of practical, results-oriented projects.
