Uzbekistan and UAE expand cooperation in PPP and infrastructure projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 14 March 2025, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov, met with ADQ CEO Roderick Mathers and Plenary Group’s Chief Operating Officer for the Middle East, Mustafa Fakhour.

The meeting was also attended by Oliver Barbagallo, Head of Plenary Group’s Middle East division, ADQ Senior Investment Manager Ryan Freeman, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilkhomjon Umrzakov, and other officials.

Discussions focused on the development of public-private partnerships (PPP) in Uzbekistan, existing programs, and prospects for bilateral cooperation. Special attention was given to infrastructure development, with an emphasis on modern solutions to improve the quality of life.

In the PPP sector, the parties discussed initiatives in healthcare, education, and water supply, leveraging partnership mechanisms. Additionally, they explored opportunities in the mining and geological industries, including the introduction of advanced technologies.

At the conclusion of the talks, the participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and implementing planned initiatives.
