Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan sign memorandum in field of electricity transit and flow

Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan agreed to cooperate in the field of transit and electricity transmission.
On 20 May, Uzbekenergo and the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan signed a corresponding memorandum.
The memorandum was signed within the framework of the working visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkmenistan.
The document envisaged cooperation in the transit of electricity from Turkmenistan to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan through the energy system of Uzbekistan.
Under the memorandum, the Turkmen side will supply electricity by paying off debts to Uzbekenergo at a mutually agreed price.
