Uzbekistan and Türkiye Sign Package of Agreements Following Strategic Cooperation Council Meeting
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Following the fourth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed a Joint Statement, as well as a Decision on cooperation mechanisms within the framework of a comprehensive strategic partnership.
Building on the agreements reached, the two sides also signed an extensive package of bilateral documents covering key areas of multifaceted Uzbek–Turkish cooperation.
These include intergovernmental agreements on cooperation in healthcare, education, and military medicine, as well as on economic and financial interaction.
Separate agreements provide for the development of cooperation in the mining industry, joint efforts to advance international transport corridors, and interaction in the field of special economic zones. Particular attention was paid to nuclear safety, physical protection, safeguards, and radiation protection, with a corresponding agreement signed in this area.
In addition, the parties agreed to cooperate in promoting organized labor migration and the return of citizens to their countries of origin, as well as to expand interaction between the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Presidency of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye.
As part of the humanitarian and institutional dialogue, a Cooperation Program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2026–2027 was approved, a protocol was signed between Uzbekistan’s Agency for the Development of the Light Industry and Türkiye’s Council of Higher Education, and a Cultural Cooperation Plan for 2026–2027 was adopted.
The signed documents are intended to give additional momentum to the development of Uzbek–Turkish relations and ensure the practical implementation of agreements reached at the highest level.
