Uzbekistan and Türkiye Sign Military Cooperation Agreement for 2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Defense, Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov, and Türkiye’s Minister of National Defense, Yaşar Güler, signed a military cooperation agreement for 2026 in Ankara, according to the press service of the Uzbek Ministry of Defense.
During meetings held both in a narrow format and with full delegations, the parties discussed regional security issues, the development of the defense industry, personnel training, and coordination between the armed forces of the two countries.
The 2026 cooperation plan includes joint military exercises, experience sharing, and the development of military medicine.
The agreements provide for the professional development of military doctors, the study of military hospital management and military-medical technologies, as well as the organization of trainings and practice exchanges.
Uzbekistan’s Minister of Defense emphasized that Türkiye’s expertise will contribute to the modernization of the Uzbek army and strengthening its capabilities.
In turn, Yaşar Güler noted that relations with Uzbekistan are reaching the level of a strategic partnership.
