Uzbekistan and Türkiye Discuss Expanding Educational and Scholarship Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 21 January, in Ankara, Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Munira Aminova held talks with Abdülhadi Turus, Head of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities of Türkiye (YTB).

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state of cooperation and prospective initiatives aimed at expanding educational and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Particular attention was paid to the outcomes of YTB scholarship programs. In 2025, 228 citizens of Uzbekistan were admitted under these programs, and 136 students are currently continuing their studies. Overall, more than 3,200 graduates have successfully completed their education through YTB programs, and a dedicated alumni portal has been established to maintain ongoing engagement with graduates.

The meeting also addressed ongoing projects, including the “Cultural Turk” encyclopedia, the Zangturon initiative, as well as programs focused on training in jewelry making and emergency medical assistance.

In addition, the parties reviewed new initiatives, including programs in information technology and cybersecurity, specialized training courses for young diplomats, and projects aimed at developing the pharmaceutical industry.

At the conclusion of the talks, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation in education and professional development, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts in training highly qualified specialists and expanding professional exchange programs.
