Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 28 January 2026, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan and Minister of Economy and Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov, held a working meeting with Jamil Kazancı, Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Turkish company Aksa Energy.

During the discussions, the parties addressed the development of Uzbekistan’s energy sector, the modernization of existing capacities, and the construction of new production facilities. Particular attention was paid to strengthening the country’s energy infrastructure, ensuring stable electricity generation, and introducing advanced technologies in the sector.

It was noted that Aksa Energy’s projects implemented in Uzbekistan make a significant contribution to the development of the national energy system. The company’s international expertise in designing and constructing power plants using biogas, natural gas, wind, hydro, and other energy sources was highly appreciated.

The meeting also covered favorable conditions for investment in the energy sector, outcomes of recent legal and institutional reforms, and measures to expand private sector participation.

Following the negotiations, both sides expressed their interest in the consistent development of mutually beneficial cooperation and the joint implementation of promising projects. The importance of elevating the partnership with Aksa Energy to a new level and strengthening long-term strategic cooperation in Uzbekistan’s energy industry was particularly emphasized.
