Uzbekistan and TİKA Discuss Development of the Pharmaceutical Sector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 5 December 2025, Abdullah Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, held a meeting with representatives of TİKA (Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency), the official international cooperation agency of the Government of Türkiye.
TİKA is a recognized organization implementing large-scale international projects in education, healthcare, technology, and economic development, and is known for its global support programs.
During the meeting, the parties discussed promising areas of cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, including student and specialist exchanges, organization of internships in Türkiye, workforce training in artificial intelligence and digital technologies, as well as harmonization of research and development (R&D) and quality control standards with international requirements. Additionally, they explored the implementation of innovative educational programs aimed at enhancing local production capacity.
At the conclusion of the negotiations, both sides agreed to carry out joint projects focused on improving workforce skills in Uzbekistan, expanding research potential, and developing the production of high-quality pharmaceutical products.
