Uzbekistan and the U.S. discuss strategic cooperation prospects in Senate meeting

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 17 March 2025, a meeting took place in the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan between Senate Chairwoman Tanzila Narbayeva and U.S. Representative Kero Miller. During the talks, both sides discussed key aspects of bilateral cooperation and outlined prospective areas for further engagement.

The meeting covered ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan as well as the country’s positive socio-economic and political developments. Kero Miller acknowledged Uzbekistan’s significant progress in recent years and expressed the United States’ interest in strengthening strategic partnerships.

A particular focus was placed on expanding trade and economic ties. The parties explored opportunities for joint investment projects, cooperation in agriculture, and the adoption of modern technologies. Prospects for collaboration in energy, education, healthcare, and women’s rights protection were also discussed.

An important agenda item was the strengthening of inter-parliamentary dialogue. Both sides supported the initiative to establish friendship groups and organize interregional forums to enhance mutual understanding between the two nations.

As a result of the discussions, the parties reached an agreement on further developing bilateral relations. They emphasized the role of parliamentary diplomacy as a key tool for building trust and fostering cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States.

This meeting marks another step toward deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries, opening new opportunities for joint efforts in ensuring sustainable development and regional stability.
