Uzbekistan and the United States Strengthen Cooperation in Standardization

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Washington, Akmal Jumanazarov, Director of Uzbekistan’s Agency for Technical Regulation, met with Sonya Bird, Vice President of UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE).

The parties discussed the importance of UL standards and certifications issued by UL Solutions for facilitating the entry of Uzbek enterprises into the U.S. market.

It was noted that companies producing electrical products, cables, aluminum composite panels, basalt, antifreeze, air filters, AUS32-type products, high-voltage lines, and display refrigerators have shown particular interest in certification.

The meeting also addressed expanding cooperation in standardization, product testing and certification, and the training of qualified personnel.

As a result of the discussions, an agreement was reached to implement joint projects and sign a cooperation program between the Agency for Technical Regulation of Uzbekistan and ULSE.
