Uzbekistan and the United States Discuss Priorities for Cultural Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, Gayane Umerova, met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy, Sarah Rogers, to discuss key areas of Uzbek-American collaboration in arts, culture, and heritage preservation.
The talks were held in a constructive atmosphere, focusing on the development of museum and institutional partnerships, joint exhibition projects, the promotion of national performances on international platforms, and expanded cooperation in the restoration and preservation of cultural heritage sites. Special attention was given to professional exchanges and strengthening expert networks.
Priority topics included organizing joint cultural events in connection with the 250th anniversary of the United States’ independence, preparing and signing a five-year roadmap for cooperation in culture and cultural heritage between Uzbekistan and the U.S., and enhancing the international presence of Uzbekistan’s film industry by promoting national films on major American platforms.
The meeting concluded with a mutual reaffirmation of interest in further strengthening the strategic cultural partnership between the two countries.
