Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom are engaged in negotiations regarding Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). The update was shared by Azizbek Urunov, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for WTO Affairs, on his LinkedIn page.

According to Urunov, the Uzbek delegation had a productive week in London, working with the UK Department for Business and Trade to advance bilateral discussions on WTO accession.

"I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the warm welcome, constructive and meaningful engagement, as well as the comprehensive support for Uzbekistan’s WTO accession process," Urunov stated.

He highlighted that the visit included substantive meetings with Gareth Thomas, UK Minister for Exports, Christopher Allan, Director at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and Claire Vince, Director at the Department for Business and Trade.

According to the diplomat, both sides are firmly committed to finalizing the process, with only a few remaining steps before completion.
