Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom expand cooperation in the poultry industry
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Ravshan Usmanov held a meeting with Richard Griffiths, Chief Executive of the British Poultry Council, according to the Dunyo news agency.
The virtual talks were also joined by Blake Williamson, Head of Aviagen UK, the British branch of Aviagen Group — a globally recognized leader in poultry breeding.
During the conversation, it was noted that companies represented by the British Poultry Council account for around two-thirds of the UK's total poultry meat production. These companies cover the entire food production chain — from breeding and hatching to care, slaughter, processing, and packaging. The industry employs over 35,000 people. British enterprises also lead globally in the breeding and export of pedigree poultry.
The talks focused on the potential for poultry product exports from Uzbekistan to the UK, simplifying the import procedures for breeding poultry into Uzbekistan, and introducing the required certification systems.
As a result of the discussions, the parties agreed to further strengthen cooperation with leading UK producers to facilitate the exchange of advanced technologies and best practices in poultry farming.
