Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10-11 November this year, the first summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) will be held in Samarkand.
Uzbekistan within the framework of the OTS is not only an observer, but also an active participant, offering its views, and thereby contributing to the enrichment of the agenda of the Organization in accordance with the realities of today.
In general, at the summits of the Organization of Turkic States in 2019 (Baku), 2020 (online), 2021 (online, Istanbul), the President of Uzbekistan put forward more than 35 specific initiatives aimed at further development of multifaceted cooperation within the framework of the OTS. To date, more than 20 initiatives have already been implemented.
In particular:
– the Forum of Young Entrepreneurs was established and its first meeting was held in Uzbekistan in September 2021;
– projects on the digitalization of transport and customs procedures have been launched: a test launch of the ePermit pilot project between Uzbekistan and Turkey was launched, a pilot project of the Digital TIR and the Green Corridor between Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan was launched;
- Uzbek logistics centers Universal Logistics Service (Tashkent), Akhtachi (Andijan) and Termez Cargo Center (Surkhandarya) joined the OTS Twin Ports project;
– proposals for cooperation in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic have been implemented, a special coordination group has been established to fight the pandemic, and a permanent system of joint monitoring, analysis and forecasting of the epidemiological situation within the OTS has been formed
– in June 2021, the 6th meeting of the ministers for tourism of the OTS member states was held. Qoqand was declared as "Tourist Capital of the Turkic World" in 2022;
– the project “Tabarruk ziyorat” was launched, a road map for tourism was adopted;
– as part of the promotion of the city of Qoqand as the “Tourist Capital of the Turkic World”, on 8-10 June 2022, an International Conference was organized here on the topic “The role of the Kokand Khanate in the development of statehood and the cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples”;
– in July 2022, the 1st meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of the OTS member states was held. Also in Tashkent, the first Turkic agricultural forum was organized with the participation of more than 300 representatives of relevant ministries, international and regional organizations and business circles of member countries and observers of the Organization;
– within the framework of the implementation of the “Year of Support for Youth Initiatives”, in June 2022, the IV Forum of Young Leaders was organized in Bukhara. During the Forum, Bukhara was declared as the "First Youth Capital of the Turkic World";
- the International Prize named after Alisher Navoi "For contribution to the unity of the Turkic world" was established;
– International scientific conferences were held on the cultural heritage of Mahmud Kashgari, Yusuf Khos Hadjib, Alisher Navoi, Musa Al-Khwarizmi;
– Concepts are being developed for the creation of the OTS Structure for Environmental Protection and Climate Change, the International Center for the Study of the Heritage of the Turkic Peoples, a platform for IT specialists, engineering and technology centers and the Research Center for Trade Cooperation of the Turkic States, etc.
These and other initiatives make it possible to establish new formats of multidimensional cooperation within the framework of the OTS, strengthening its institutional and practical potential.
