Uzbekistan and the Netherlands strengthen agricultural cooperation through sustainable technologies
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A videoconference was held between Alisher Shukurov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, and the leadership of the Dutch company Mac Agro B.V., including CEO and Regional Director for the Middle East and Türkiye, Ali Koklu.
The two sides held in-depth discussions on prospects for expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector, with a particular focus on the use of high-efficiency and environmentally friendly technologies.
A central topic of the talks was the potential application of biomass solutions developed in the Netherlands using innovative and natural components. These technologies not only stimulate the healthy growth of crops but also help preserve soil fertility, reduce water consumption, and increase yields.
It was noted that implementing such solutions is economically advantageous for farmers: the use of eco-friendly products can reduce dependency on conventional fertilizers while simultaneously improving product quality.
Efficient use of water resources was emphasized as a critical factor in enhancing the sustainability of agrotechnical practices — particularly important given Uzbekistan’s agro-climatic conditions.
The parties identified priority areas within the proposed innovation project, reached agreements to begin its practical implementation, and outlined steps for experience-sharing and the establishment of regular working contacts.
The meeting underscored that this format of cooperation opens new horizons for bilateral collaboration and promotes the active integration of advanced agrotechnologies into Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector.
