Uzbekistan and the EU to sign enhanced partnership and cooperation agreement in 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and the European Council plan to sign an Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement in 2025. The announcement was made by the President of the European Council, António Costa, following a phone conversation with Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to Costa, this agreement will create new opportunities to strengthen ties and expand cooperation between the regions. He also expressed hope that Shavkat Mirziyoyev would visit Brussels in 2025 to sign this important document.

During the call, preparations for the first "Central Asia–EU" summit, scheduled to take place in Samarkand in April, were discussed. Costa emphasized that the summit would provide a significant opportunity to enhance relations between the EU and Central Asia and explore new avenues for collaboration.

The leaders also exchanged views on international developments, regional cooperation, and joint initiatives.
