Uzbekistan and the Association of Korean Medicine Agree on Cooperation in Pharmaceuticals and Science

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 January 2026, Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan, met with the presidents of the Association of Korean Medicine (AKOM), representatives of the KIDL company, and officials from Daejeon University.

AKOM is one of the leading professional organizations in the field of traditional Korean medicine in the Republic of Korea, uniting around 30,000 practitioners. The association actively contributes to scientific research, educational programs, and the formation of state healthcare policies, while promoting Korean medicine and expanding international cooperation.

During the meeting, the director presented a detailed overview of the Tashkent Pharma Park pharmaceutical cluster, highlighting its infrastructure, existing incentives, and investment opportunities. The conditions presented sparked significant interest from the Korean side.

Following the discussions, the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry and AKOM signed a memorandum of understanding to promote cooperation in education, scientific research, and professional exchange.

Both parties also agreed to develop and implement joint projects and to continue negotiations with AKOM members in subsequent phases.
