Uzbekistan and South Korea Discuss Joint Implementation of Artificial Intelligence in Public Procurement

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 22 October 2025, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan with Won Do-Yeon, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan.

The meeting was attended by Ilkhom Norkulov, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance, Gulnora Rakhimova, Deputy Minister, and Abdulaziz Khaydarov, Chairman of the Treasury Committee.

During the discussions, the parties explored opportunities to expand cooperation in the implementation and development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. Special attention was given to involving Korean experts in the digitalization of public procurement processes and the joint development of AI solutions in the financial and treasury sector.

The meeting also addressed expert collaboration, including experience sharing and consulting involving Korean specialists.

Additionally, the parties considered the possibilities of establishing joint AI centers and training qualified personnel in technological fields.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to continue developing cooperation in innovative and digital technologies and to strengthen partnership ties between Uzbekistan and South Korea.
