Uzbekistan and Singapore Deepen Cooperation in Law Enforcement and Cybersecurity

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 9 to 15 June, an official delegation from the Republic of Singapore, headed by Commissioner of Police Hoong Wee Teck, is visiting Uzbekistan.

During the visit, the Singaporean delegation is exploring Uzbekistan’s rich historical and cultural heritage, getting acquainted with the operations of local law enforcement agencies, and examining promising areas of cooperation in the fields of public order and safety.

On 10 June, Commissioner Hoong held an official meeting with First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, Ayubkhon Rakhmatullaev.

The two sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation and discussed key topics related to practical collaboration.

Particular emphasis was placed on crime prevention among youth, combating cybercrime, and sharing best practices in protecting young people from narcotic and synthetic psychoactive substances.

The meeting was held in an atmosphere of constructive dialogue and goodwill, resulting in the identification of specific steps to enhance bilateral interaction.

As part of the visit, the delegation is also scheduled to travel to Samarkand and Bukhara regions, where they will observe the work of regional law enforcement agencies and learn more about measures for ensuring safe tourism and unlocking Uzbekistan’s tourism potential.
