Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia held the fourth round of political consultations via videoconference on 29 June.
According to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, the delegations were led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia Iid al-Sakafi.
The parties discussed the state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
During the conversation, the Saudi side was informed in detail about the large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in recent years in all spheres of life, which open up new opportunities for the further development of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
Particular attention is paid to issues of trade, economic and investment cooperation, further increase in the volume and range of mutual trade, implementation of joint projects in priority areas for the parties.
The schedule of upcoming joint events at various levels was considered.
The organizational aspects of the participation of the Saudi side at a high level in the International Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Interconnectedness. Challenges and Opportunities ", which will be held on 15-16 July 2021 in Tashkent.
Other issues of the general agenda were also considered at the talks.
