Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia Expand Investment Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 27–28 October 2025, a delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev paid a working visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia aimed at strengthening investment and industrial cooperation.
The delegation also included Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Shokhrukh Gulamov.
During meetings with Saudi Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih and executives of leading Saudi companies, the parties discussed expanding collaboration in industry, energy, infrastructure, healthcare, and labor migration.
Following the visit, an agreement was signed between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade and Riyadh Cables Group on the joint development of a project to establish a high-voltage cable manufacturing plant in Tashkent. The project, valued at US$122 million, will have an annual production capacity of 24,000 tons.
The project’s implementation will create 340 new jobs.
In addition, the two sides approved a Practical Action Plan comprising more than 20 joint projects in energy, water supply, information technology, agriculture, and infrastructure.
