Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia Coordinate Diplomatic Response to Regional Crisis

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov held a high-stakes telephone conversation today with Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, to address the rapid deterioration of regional security following recent military escalations in the Middle East.

The discussion centered on the acute volatility currently threatening both regional stability and global economic interests. Minister Saidov expressed the deep concern of the Uzbek government regarding the potential for further military escalation and emphasized the urgent need for synchronized diplomatic action to prevent a wider conflict.

During the call, Saidov conveyed a message of unwavering solidarity from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia. He reaffirmed Tashkent’s support for Riyadh’s efforts to maintain regional peace, particularly in light of recent reports concerning the interception of aerial threats over Saudi territory and the resulting temporary disruption of critical energy infrastructure on the Kingdom's east coast.

Both ministers underscored that de-escalation, the restoration of trust, and the prioritization of political-diplomatic channels are the only viable tools for ensuring long-term security in the Middle East. The call is part of a broader diplomatic marathon by Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry, which has included similar high-level consultations with the prime ministers and foreign ministers of Qatar, Jordan, and other regional stakeholders over the last 48 hours.

The conversation concludes as Uzbekistan continues to manage the repatriation of its citizens from the conflict zone, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterating its call for all parties to strictly adhere to international law and the principles of national sovereignty.
