Uzbekistan and Russia reaffirm commitment to boost trade turnover to US$30 billion
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 29 April 2025, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, held talks with Russia’s Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Dmitry Volvach.
The parties thoroughly reviewed the progress of projects and agreements outlined in the Joint Action Plan to increase bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and Russia for 2024–2030. The main objective of the program, set by the leaders of both countries, is to raise trade turnover to US$30 billion.
It was noted that in the first three months of the current year, bilateral trade reached US$2.6 billion. At the same time, Uzbek exports to Russia grew by 18.2%. Currently, over 3,000 joint and wholly foreign enterprises with Russian capital operate in Uzbekistan.
Special attention was given to the successful registration of the Expert Center for Strategic Initiatives at the Tashkent State University of Economics. The new center is expected to become a key tool in enhancing bilateral cooperation by analyzing market trends and identifying promising business projects and initiatives.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to further deepen cooperation and continue active joint work in the field of trade and economic relations.
