Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Russia plan to launch the Agroexpress project in December 2021. This was announced by the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov.
The Agroexpress project envisages the regular and fast delivery of agricultural products in a refrigerated train along the Tashkent-Moscow route.
According to Reshetnikov, the first pilot supply of fresh fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan will take place in November this year. Agroexpress will start operating on a permanent basis in December, he added.
“We hope that the first pilot supply of fresh fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan will take place in November this year, and Agroexpress will start operating on a permanent basis in December. In the future, this will help to provide our domestic market with quality products, primarily in the off-season, and will contribute to ensuring food security and stabilizing prices,” he added.
Russia will export the products of its agro-industrial complex to Uzbekistan by the same train trains.
