Uzbekistan and Qatar Discuss Tourism Promotion via Qatar Airways Channels
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the international tourism forum “Uzbekistan – Qatar” held in Doha, Chairman of the Tourism Committee Umid Shadiev held a substantive meeting with Qatari entrepreneur and public figure Zaid Al-Hamdan.
Zaid Al-Hamdan is the Chairman of Armasite Group, heads the Canadian Qatari Business Council, and represents the interests of the American corporation US21 in the region.
During the meeting, special attention was given to promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in the Qatari market.
The sides discussed the prospects of building a sustainable image of Uzbekistan as a unique cultural and historical destination, rich in the heritage of the Great Silk Road, Islamic civilization, and modern tourism infrastructure that appeals to both leisure travelers and pilgrims.
Zaid Al-Hamdan expressed his readiness to support the promotion of Uzbekistan as a promising tourism destination among audiences in Arab countries.
In particular, the possibility of utilizing Qatar Airways resources was discussed — including the placement of promotional materials in the airline’s in-flight magazine and video content in the onboard entertainment system.
This approach aims to effectively inform a broad audience — including transit passengers and potential travelers from the Middle East — about Uzbekistan’s tourism opportunities.
