Uzbekistan and Qatar Agree to Expand Investment and Trade Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The second session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation between Uzbekistan and the State of Qatar was held in Tashkent.

The meeting was co-chaired by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, and Qatar’s State Minister for Foreign Trade, Dr. Ahmed bin Muhammad Al Sayed.

Delegations discussed a wide range of issues aimed at further expanding cooperation in trade, investment, banking, agriculture, environmental protection, transportation, tourism, and information technology.

Following the talks, a Protocol of the meeting was signed, outlining concrete steps to deepen partnership and implement joint projects.

Particular attention was given to establishing joint production facilities, developing infrastructure, and increasing Qatari investment in initiatives related to green energy and the digital transformation of the economy.

Currently, Qatari companies are implementing projects in Uzbekistan worth US$2.4 billion.

Additionally, an investment portfolio of 28 promising initiatives with a total value of US$7.6 billion was formed, covering sectors such as energy, logistics, geology, information technology, and healthcare.
