Uzbekistan and Pakistan establish new cooperation in the textile industry
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During a visit by a delegation led by Akobir Tukhtaev, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, a series of meetings and negotiations were held in Karachi with leading Pakistani textile companies Artistic Textile and Diners Textile.
The management of Artistic Textile, one of the world’s largest producers of denim fabric and apparel, expressed strong interest in implementing a large-scale investment project in Uzbekistan.
The company owns 18 factories, employs 25,000 people, and manages 50,000 hectares of land. It produces goods worth $450 million annually — including 80 million square meters of denim fabric and 30 million pieces of finished clothing. Its main markets are the United States and European countries, and it partners with well-known brands such as Levi’s, GAP, Target, Zara, H&M, Ralph Lauren, and HUGO BOSS.
Artistic Textile highly praised Uzbekistan’s investment climate, the quality of its workforce, and the country’s resource potential.
Diners Textile, specializing in men’s apparel production, manufactures about 1 million items annually, employs 6,000 people, and has a presence in retail outlets across Pakistan and the UAE.
The company’s leadership supported the proposal for direct investments in finished garment production in Uzbekistan, focusing on export markets.
The meetings in Karachi opened new opportunities for modernizing Uzbekistan’s textile industry, diversifying exports, and attracting new investments.
