Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 2 April 2026, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov held a phone conversation with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, and Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
Both sides highly appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to de-escalate the conflict in the Middle East and reaffirmed their shared stance that the region must not become a theater of confrontation.
The discussion also touched upon a five-point initiative jointly proposed by Islamabad and Beijing aimed at promoting peace and stability, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and diplomatic efforts as a priority.
The ministers exchanged views on the situation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, noting ongoing measures to reduce tensions and underlining the significance of continued cooperation through diplomatic channels to strengthen regional security.
