Uzbekistan and Pakistan Discuss Expansion of Trade and Economic Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 11 December, a productive meeting took place in Tashkent between Alisher Shaykhov, Adviser to the Chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and Rana Ihsan Afzal Khan, Coordinator for Trade and Industry to the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation, increasing mutual investments, and implementing joint projects.

Particular attention was given to strategically important sectors, including solar energy, information technology, and the pharmaceutical industry. As tools for strengthening cooperation, the sides proposed organizing joint training sessions and experience-sharing programs in these areas.

The meeting also reviewed joint initiatives aimed at developing a professional training system, introducing modern educational programs, and establishing advanced training centers based on international standards.

Following the discussions, both sides confirmed their readiness to create a permanent platform for dialogue between government bodies and the private sector, enhance business integration, and elevate the trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan to a new qualitative level.
