Uzbekistan and Pakistan Agree on New Transport Corridors to Strengthen Regional Connectivity

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Transport cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan is entering a new phase.

During a visit by an Uzbek delegation, which included representatives of major transport and logistics companies and was led by First Deputy Minister of Transport Mamanbiy Omarov, discussions focused on expanding collaboration in the transport and logistics sector and enhancing regional connectivity.

At a meeting with Pakistan’s Deputy Minister of Railways, Mazhar Ali Shah, the parties agreed to promptly begin field studies to prepare a feasibility study for the construction of the “Uzbekistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan” railway.

Additionally, an agreement was reached with Pakistan’s Deputy Minister of Communications, Ali Shah Masood, to establish a new transport corridor along the route “Pakistan – China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan.”

Pilot shipments along this corridor are planned to begin in February 2026, marking a significant step toward strengthening regional transport integration.
