Uzbekistan and Oxford Advance Cultural and Academic Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting took place in Oxford between Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Fund for the Development of Culture and Arts, and Dr. Farhan Ahmad Nizami, Director of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies.
Founded in 1985 and operating under the patronage of His Majesty King Charles III, the Centre is one of the United Kingdom’s leading academic institutions specializing in the study of Islamic civilization.
During the meeting, the parties discussed preparations for an exhibition commemorating the 500th anniversary of the birth of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, as well as the implementation of scholarship programs, expert exchanges, and joint research projects.
The event marked an important step in strengthening cultural dialogue and expanding academic cooperation, bridging Uzbekistan’s traditions with the global scientific community.
