Uzbekistan and Nile Sugar Agree to Expand Cooperation in the Agro-Industrial Sector

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 23 January, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov held a meeting with Emad Farid, Chief Executive Officer of the Egyptian company Nile Sugar.

During the talks, the parties discussed the current state of cooperation and prospects for expanding bilateral engagement.

It was noted that within the framework of cooperation with international investors, including Nile Sugar, Uzbekistan is considering projects aimed at developing processing industries and related infrastructure in the country.

Following the meeting, a Final Protocol was signed, confirming the parties’ readiness to continue coordinated efforts to prepare and implement joint projects.

The document provides for further elaboration of project parameters, financing conditions, and the coordination of subsequent steps to expand practical cooperation in priority areas of development.

The implementation of the agreements reached will make it possible to move to the practical stage of cooperation with Nile Sugar, ensure the phased preparation and launch of joint projects, and attract advanced agro-industrial and processing technologies with subsequent localization of production in Uzbekistan.
