Uzbekistan and Moldova sign memorandum in pharmaceutical sector
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During a visit to Moldova by a delegation from the Center for Pharmaceutical Product Safety of the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by Deputy Director Nozim Berdiev, a memorandum of understanding was signed with the Moldovan Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices, headed by Dragos Gutsu.
The meeting focused on prospects for expanding cooperation between the two countries in the pharmaceutical sector, ensuring the safety of medicines and medical devices, and exchanging experiences between governmental agencies.
The Moldovan Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices, established in 2007, is a governmental body responsible for the registration and regulation of medicines and medical devices in the country, ensuring their safety and quality.
As a result of the negotiations, a memorandum of understanding was signed with the goal of studying best practices in the pharmaceutical sector and adapting them for implementation in national systems. The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and Moldova in the pharmaceutical field and support scientific and technical progress in this sector.
During the visit, the Uzbek delegation visited one of Moldova’s largest pharmaceutical companies, Dita Estfarm, which was founded in 1995 and is involved in the import, distribution, and wholesale trade of medicines and medical devices. The company’s operations are organized according to international standards, with a particular focus on product quality and safety.
The delegation also toured the company’s modern distribution networks, quality control systems, and logistics processes. They were provided with information about the company’s international experience and its efforts in controlling the supply of pharmaceutical products to pharmacies and medical institutions across Moldova.
